We sent out a newsletter/email to all of our customers back in March regarding this server move, but we have noticed that a few of you were unaware of the change, so here is a copy of the original message that was sent.

To our valued customers,

Every five years, we reevaluate our server equipment and hosting environment to ensure we can continue to maintain a high level of security and scalability. Based on several months of review, we have decided to migrate to AWS (Amazon Web Services).

What does this mean for you?

  • All websites will be migrated to AWS between March 15 - June 1.
  • If we host your domain’s DNS (this is the case for about 70% of our customers), this move will happen within the next 60 days. The transition will be in the evening with limited to no downtime expected. There will be nothing that you will need to do before or after this transition.
  • If we do not host your domain’s DNS, we will be contacting you during this migration to coordinate the move with you or your domain’s DNS host.

AWS provides a very scalable and secure configuration, which will allow us to make changes within minutes. For example, in a disaster situation where donations and transactions occur at a much higher rate, we will be able to quickly add capacity.

Additionally, as we continue to grow, we can scale up without any significant hardware investments.

We are excited about the new opportunities that will open up from this change. Please submit a support ticket if you have any questions or concerns.
